At SAINTCON this week

At SAINTCON this week
Attending SAINTCON in Provo, Utah this week

This week I'm at SAINTCON, a local security conference, on a work trip. My co-worker and I taught a class on network threat hunting and it seemed to go well. It was the major deliverable for the week, so now I can enjoy the conference for the rest of the week.

Book status

I did a little writing tonight on the Mack Hawthorne project. (I really need to come up with some candidates for a book title.) I have a better idea of what is happening next and I've started writing it. Unfortunately, it's time for bed and I didn't get very far. I did rewrite a small section that I had completed last time. Something felt unclear and I wanted to fix that up.

I've been trying to focus more on how Mack, Wes, and Theodore speak and the different tones they use. So far, there hasn't been a big change to them, but Theodore is a nobleman, so he would speak with a bit more elevated diction. Wes is more of a country boy and his language far more rough around the edges. Mack is going to land somewhere in the middle of them. It's a work in progress.
